FastPay Company - Introducing Council in a meaningful way to a rapidly growing tech company.

Michelle Fiordaliso, the Corporate Coach at FastPay, had contacted me to do first do a Council on Tuesday, July 5th. The company dedicates time for it's employees to engage in some bonding activities and she felt that Council would be great for this allotted space. Eleven employees came to that first Council and it was a great success. I knew by the end of the guided meditation, this group was ready to drop in and engage with each other. The sharing was real and genuine. Michelle contacted me a few days after and asked if I could come back to FastPay to join other Facilitators in a company-wide activity to promote the values that the company is working hard to ensure that all the employees understand and follow.

This is another way to use Council at Work.  I came up with a few prompts that could help the group connect on the topics that I was given- Humility and Respect. My approach is to allow the group to share stories that will invoke the principles being discussed. I know from my own experience, when I am acting with humility, I am most available to accepting other's mistakes. I creatively worked that in (not giving the prompt away, sorry) and it was perfect in that it allowed others to understand the meaning of humility while learning something about their colleagues that they didn't know. When others allow themselves to be vulnerable, that's when true connectivity can happen.

It was a great event and I was grateful for the opportunity to contribute. Thanks to Michelle and all the employees at FastPay. Kudos to Jed Simon, founder and CEO for creating the position of Corporate Coach and having these team building experiences- the company is better because of them!
